Coquitlam’s Canada Day celebrations are strongly represented this year, with over 10 hours of entertainment, food, fun and family-friendly events.
Time: noon to 10:30 p.m.
Location: Pipeline Road, Coquitlam
The park will be buzzing with Canadian pride, with music, food, an artisan market, games, an obstacle course and a ton of other activities to bolster your patriotic spirits.
There will be three stages throughout the park, with performances from the Coquitlam Youth Orchestra, Cassandra Bangel, Vancouver-based folk group Blackthorn and many more.
The Coquitlam City Council will be leading a Living Flag at 1:45 p.m., taking red and white clothed participants in a procession to the Coquitlam Stage in Town Centre Park to sing “O Canada” and form a living flag visible from the air.
There will also be a variety of village plazas, including the Arts Village, where you can pick up pieces from local creators, the Cultural Village, featuring displays on the various cultures represented in Canada, and the Green Village, which will educate visitors on environmental practices, technological innovations, and initiatives happening around the world.
The night’s celebrations will end with Canada Day Fireworks, taking place at 10 p.m. over Lafarge Lake, adjacent to the park.
