Police arrest convicted murderer who failed to return to halfway house

Police in Vancouver have located and arrested a federal offender that was the subject of a public warning Tuesday night.

The VPD issued an alert for help to find Ryan Patrick Beaulieu, who failed to return to his halfway house in Vancouver.

The 33-year-old, who is currently serving a five-year, eight-month sentence for manslaughter, has an extensive criminal history.

The VPD says Beaulieu was apprehended late Monday and remains in custody.
