Having the opportunity to write short posts for Vancity Buzz has given me the chance to attend different events around Vancouver. One event that I have gone to recently with our very own Karm was the Converse 2012 Spring/Summer Collection of their shoe lines.
Meeting up at “Around the Bean Coffee Shop” in Gastown, Karm and I headed down Powell Street on an adventure to find the location. Arriving at our destination we came face to face with a blank door, a very large blank door and no sign indicating whether or not we were at the right place. After wandering around the building and constantly checking twitter to make sure we had the right address, I spotted a tiny buzzer and nudged Karm to press it. After doing so the door opened and we walked into this amazing garden inside a building. We were at the “Warehouse”, the famous recording studio owned by none other than Bryan Adams himself.
Upon entering the building we were showed upstairs into a loft, and greeted. There were drinks and appetizers and as Karm greeted everyone, I took the chance to wander around and do the creep. We were then taken on the “tour” of the building into the famous recording studio. Inside the studio converse had set up the shoes and bags around the room in order of collection, brand and make, they had used a grand piano and some instrument equipment to make the set up look unique. Here is a sneak peek of what we saw and you can expect to see at select Vancouver retailers:
