Since 2012, CONTACT has grown from a single day electronic music event to become Western Canada’s largest and most talked about two-day stadium event. CONTACT 2013 broke Vancouver’s all time social media record by sharing a staggering 10,000 photos & interactions over two-days, which featured headlining acts Skrillex, Kaskade, Dada Life, and Diplo.
With the ambition of topping the caliber and demand of artists from 2013, this years’ line-up is anticipated to make even bigger waves across the Pacific Northwest, boasting a stacked roster of the world’s most coveted DJs and producers.
For Blueprint, CONTACT 2014 will continue pushing boundaries & expectations to grow the electronic music scene in Western Canada. Alvaro Prol of Blueprint, Principal shares, “It’s amazing to see the growth and success of CONTACT just over two years. From its inaugural year in 2012 to last year where we were able to expand CONTACT to a 2-day festival and double in attendance.”
“It’s clear that electronic music is in huge demand in Vancouver, and the overwhelming success and support of CONTACT has allowed us to continue to take steps to make it bigger, and better each year – to where it’s now being recognized within the electronic industry as a top event that DJs are vying to be a part of. We’re so thankful to be able to bring this level of talent to our city, and we can’t wait to close out 2014 in style with our most legendary dance party yet,” adds Prol.
Erik Hoffman, SVP of Talent at Live Nation Canada adds, “It’s been amazing to watch the organic growth of electronic dance music in BC. We’re thrilled to be in it year round with our partners at Blueprint, who are widely recognized as leaders in the genre. CONTACT is our annual flagship event and as it enters its third year, we feel fans will be absolutely blown away by the line-up, the experience, and the spectacle we’re going to stage. ”
Held at BC Place, CONTACT Winter Music Festival is known for the high degree of production and advanced technology the venue provides. In addition to the captivating light show guests of the festival experience within the venue, CONTACT 2013 saw BC Place light up the city to the beat of the music on its exterior panels.
