One person dead following collision in North Vancouver

One person has died following an early morning collision in North Vancouver.

North Vancouver RCMP has confirmed that the incident occurred at approximately 4 am on Highway 1, just East of Lynn Valley Road, on a portion of the highway known as “the cut”.

The collision resulted in the death of the male driver, the only occupant in the vehicle.

“Highway traffic is being limited to one eastbound lane to facilitate the gathering of investigative evidence by the RCMP Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS),” the RCMP said in a release.

The RCMP Port Mann Highway Patrol is conducting the ongoing investigation.

This is the second fatal collision to occur on “the cut” this month. On January 9 a 63-year-old motorist lost their life following a multiple vehicle collision on the same section of road.
