Regular users of Instagram will be familiar with the hashtag #WCW, but they might hot have heard about the guerrilla art installation currently on display in Charleson Park. In case you’re wondering, #WCW is short for Woman-Crush-Wednesday. Usually, users will post images of women they a crushing on. The trend parallels #MCM – Man-Crush-Monday.

Local artist, iHeart, seems to have created a clever work of art incorporating the hashtag and play on the Wicked Witch of the East from the Wizard of Oz. It was posted on his Instagram earlier today.

It’s great to see some more public art and street art in the city; however, like most unauthorized art, the City of Vancouver will most likely act swiftly to remove this. We all remember the Satan Penis statue that was erected in East Vancouver last year. That was gone within in hours of it getting up.

Stop by Charleson Park to get a look while you can.
