Support children in need in BC and you could win a 7-night Alaskan Cruise

The CKNW Orphans’ Fund supports children in BC who have special needs.

And every year, the organization runs a fall fundraising campaign to raise funds to ensure that children in the Lower Mainland receive the equipment and assistance they desperately need.

CKNW Radio began broadcasting in 1944, and the Orphans’ Fund started in December of that year when the station made the season a little brighter and purchased gifts for the children residing in a local orphanage.

Now in 2017, the organization continues to do great work for children in need. The annual CKNW Orphans’ Fund pledge day is taking place on Wednesday, November 29 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, and CKNW will be broadcasting from 5:30 am to 7 pm that day. Radio and local personalities will be joining them, you can go along to the event to show your support!

If you donate before December 1, you’ll have a chance of winning a 7-night Alaskan Cruise for two aboard a five-star Holland America Line Vessel, sailing from Vancouver. The prize was generously donated to the CKNW Orphans’ Fund by Hagen’s Travel.

Travel arrangements include roundtrip sailing from Vancouver in an ocean-view stateroom, plus fares, all taxes, fees, prepaid gratuities, meals, some beverages, and onboard entertainment.

To enter, simply download an entry form and return it with your gift or donate online. You don’t need to donate to enter the draw but if you do, you’ll be helping the CKNW Orphans’ Fund meet the needs of BC children with special needs and their families as they cope with unique and difficult situations.

All donors receive an annual appeal letter and entry form in the mail, and entrants who donate more than $2o will be issued a tax receipt. The cruise winner will be selected on December 4 so make sure you have your entry in soon.

From January to April this year alone, the CKNW Orphans’ Fund raised $71,400 which helped 38 children access much-needed therapies like speech therapy, occupational therapy, and horseback riding therapy.
