City Council has recently approved a pilot program to enable non-traditional venues to create artistic and cultural performances such as music, dance, multimedia or whatever inspires you! And as the event organizer, you will find that the requirements are easier to meet, the approvals process is quicker, and the application fees are cheaper than ever before.

The Arts and Culture Indoor Event Pilot Program allows small events, up to 250 people, in spaces that would otherwise not be allowed to host events — think artist studios, warehouse or factory spaces, and art galleries. You can even serve liquor at an event if you first get a Special Occasion License (available at government liquor stores). Any one location is eligible to hold up to two events per month.
