It’s a classic ballet based on a festive fairy tale written in the 1800s, and this Christmas season, The Nutcracker ballet comes to Vancouver.

This year’s Goh Ballet production runs from Thursday, December 14 to Tuesday, December 19 and features more than 200 local and international dancers.

Principal dancers Jerome Tisserand and Elizabeth Murphy from the Pacific Northwest Ballet will perform as the Cavalier Prince and the Sugar Plum Fairy, respectively.

Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, based on a fairytale from the 1800s, tells the story Clara, a young girl whose nutcracker doll comes to life.

Clark embarks on a magical journey through the Land of Snow to the Kingdom of Sweets, where she is greeted by the enchanting Sugar Plum Fairy.

An unforgettable adventure awaits as her gallant Nutcracker battles the evil Mouse King and his army of mischievous mice.

The cast will dance to choreography by Emmy award winning dance visionary, Anna-Marie Holmes, as well as musical accompaniment by the Vancouver Opera Orchestra.

Tickets to the Vancouver performance are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
