With summer slipping away, it’s that time of year again to visit the Fair at the PNE for one last hoorah. As one of the main attractions, deciding which food cart to choose from can be overwhelming to the least.
So to help narrow it down, here are a few must try foods at the PNE that sell for $10 or less.
It’s the Mac and Cheese you’ve always dreamed of — with a twist. Try the Slumdog Millionaire for $9, a curry infused cheesy wonder. If Bollywood isn’t your thing, they offer the Godzilla also for $9, which is Mac and Cheese with Japanese inspired toppings like roasted seaweed and teriyaki sauce.
La Casa Gelato offers 68 rotating ice cream flavours, so it’s safe to say that you’ll find at least one to please your palate.
Jamaican Mi Juicy offers a little taste of the Caribbean right in the festival grounds. Try the Jamaican jerk chicken, jerk chicken wraps or choose from a variety of Jamaican patties. Then to wash it all down they have a variety of different tropical smoothies!
Since 1975 Henry’s has offered barbecued chicken smoked slowly over an open charcoal pit. With a choice of fries, chili or coleslaw on the side, this is definitely a fair favourite.
C-Lover’s is bringing their seafood to the PNE grounds where you can order their classic cod or halibut, or feel free to change things up and try their deep fried prawns and chips instead.
The PNE has a complete list of all 2015 PNE food vendors to help Fair-goers plan out their eating. The 2015 Fair at the PNE runs now through Monday, September 7.
