Vancouver Cheap Eats: Pasta

DH Vancouver Staff Nov 13, 2015 10:00 am

For those rainy days that turn into dreary nights, many of us gravitate towards the one thing that can make it all feel better: carbs. You can’t quite beat tucking into a plate of fresh hot pasta drenched in your favourite sauce and finished with melted cheese.

So when you’re in the need of your fix, here are a few places in Vancouver where you can find tasty pasta dishes for $10 or less.

From rotini to linguini, all of Semolina’s 20 pasta dishes run for $9 or less. Choose from classic sauces like pesto, bolognese, or marinara for lunch or dinner, as they’re serving until 8 p.m. seven days a week.

The Flying Pig

With a Truffled Jumbo Mac And Cheese on the menu, there’s no denying that Flying Pig has some of the best pasta in town. Even better? If you hit up any of their three locations between 4 and 6 p.m., this cheesy dish is just $6.

Don’t let the name fool you; there’s more than just pizza at Papa’s. In fact, there’s baked spaghetti with meat sauce or mac & cheese, both served with a giant slice of garlic bread and a $4.99 price tag.

Easy to miss, this tiny spot on Robson Street is worth a trip. With handmade pasta like tortellini, gnocchi, and pappardelle, you won’t be paying more than $8.95 for these authentic Italian dishes at Verifood.

The little sister to Italian Kitchen, IK2Go serves up classic dishes for busy Vancouverites.  If you’re looking for a quick lunch, try the beef lasagna for $7.95 or the penne pomodoro for $6.95.
