As the colder weather starts to roll in, so do the cravings for comfort food, particularly in the form of carbs and cheese. Since Italian fare covers both, we scoped out a few places serving up classic dishes for $10 or less.

Basil Pasta Bar

Tasty meets affordable, try the Pesto Shrimp Linguini for only $7.95. Better yet, customize your dish and choose your own sauce, proteins, and veggies for the same price.

Caffe Rustico

Mount Pleasant’s Cafe Rustico offers a variety of pizzas and panini for only $8.50. The Rustico Special Panini is made up of ham, capicollo, mozzarella, hot pepper rings, tomato, lettuce and garlic olive oil. There’s also an all day breakfast special worth trying for only $2.95.

IK2GO in downtown Vancouver offers an assortment of Italian food that’s perfect for eating on the run. All of their salads are only $5.95 and panini go for $6.95. Other cheap eats under $10 include pastas, meatballs, soups, and wraps. Open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., it’s the perfect grab and go.
