800 people hiked Mt. Seymour on Canada Day to sing O Canada at Sunrise (VIDEO, PHOTOS)
Ah, Canada Day.
A day to rest, and celebrate our country’s birthday. But it’s not all rest for Chasing Sunrise. The Vancouver-based crew is known to take Canadians on adventures involving early morning hikes to catch the sunrise.
And on Canada Day, Chasing Sunrise lead 800 hikers up Mt. Seymour for their annual July 1 trek before sunrise. The 2:30 am meet up time didn’t dampen any spirits, only energized the group, who took to the mountain peak to sing a familiar tune – our national anthem.
In case you’ve been missing their adventures, the ever-so-charismatic Chasing Sunrise crew – spearheaded by Julian DeSchutter, and Gordon Swenson – have gained an impressive global following. Their online communities have over 35,000 followers combined, and their movement inspired similar groups to start up in Toronto, Calgary, and Montreal. But when images and videos are this inspiring, how could you not follow these guys?
