The Vancouver art community is looking for information regarding the theft of a very valuable chair from their office.

The cedar chair, created by internationally acclaimed Brazilian artist Hugo França, was last seen sitting in the entrance to the Vancouver Biennale office at 290 West 3rd Avenue on July 10. Carved out of a single piece of cedar trunk, the chair is a part of França’s PUBLIC FURNITURE | URBAN TREES exhibit. The exhibit features furniture created using the dead trunks and roots of trees washes ashore on city beaches.

A reward is being offered for its return, and anyone with information regarding its whereabouts can contact the Vancouver Biennale office at (604) 682-1289 or [email protected]
