Ceili's to close doors at Granville Street location

Yet another piece of Downtown Vancouver’s nightlife is no more.

After more than seven years on Granville Street, Ceili’s is closing its doors.

“We want to personally thank you for 7 years of amazing memories as we close the doors to our longest standing establishment in Vancouver,” writes the pub on its Facebook page.

The reason behind the decision is unclear, but Ceili’s in Kitsilano, Richmond and South Surrey will remain open, with the Kitsilano location holding a customer appreciation party on May 18th.

“Ceili’s Kitsilano will be hosting a customer appreciation party to thank you all once again for the ride of a lifetime,” says the pub’s Facebook page.

“Come join us for some perfect pints and familiar faces! We look forward to seeing you soon.”

The announcement comes as Ginger 62, another staple of the downtown scene, confirms that the Victoria Day long weekend will be its last.

More on this as it develops…
