The Vancouver Canucks have traded defenceman Jason Garrison to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a 50th draft pick in this year’s NHL Draft.

The Canucks have also given the rights to Jeff Costello, who they picked up from Ottawa this past March, and the club’s 7th round draft pick in 2015.

Giving up Garrison looks like a cap dump as he came with a hit of $4.6M until the 2017-18. Along with trading Kesler earlier today, Canucks free up over $5.5M in cap space for the 2014-15 season.
