The changing of the guard appears to be upon us.

Bo Horvat will be the Vancouver Canucks’ lone representative at the 2017 NHL All-Star Game in Los Angeles later this month. The 21-year-old will become the youngest Canucks player to appear in an All-Star Game since Trevor Linden in 1991. He will also become the fifth-youngest Canuck all-time to play in the game.

Horvat will be the fourth-youngest player in this year’s game, with only Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, and Patrik Laine who are younger.

Horvat is having a breakout year, leading Vancouver in both points (29) and goals (13) through 42 games. He also leads the team in even strength points (22) and goals (10), as well as shorthanded points (2) and goals (2).

Horvat has caught fire of late, scoring 13 points (5-8-13) in his last 13 games, and is on a seven-game point streak (3-5-8).

The third-year pro will play on the Pacific Division team, as once again the NHL goes with a four-team 3-on-3 tournament format.
