Not one but TWO Vancouver beaches named top 20 in World's Best City Beaches

Nov 27 2018, 8:36 am

Move over, Bondi Beach. You’re old news, Miami Beach. Copacabana? So yesterday.

… Kidding, those are still the top three city beaches in the world, BUT guess which Vancouver beaches snagged the number 16 and 18 spots?!

According to FlightNetwork’s extensive catalogue of the World’s Best Beaches, Kitsilano Beach is named #16 and Spanish Banks is #18 on the list of the World’s Top 50 City Beaches, culminated with input of over 1,200 travel experts.

Right in the backyard of our Daily Hive HQ, Kitsilano and Spanish Banks are two of only four North American beaches to crack the top 50 on this list, so we should be very proud. And it’s true, with wide stretches of sand, tree-lined promenades, and a backdrop of the Vancity skyline against the mountain peaks, Kits Beach and Spanish Banks are absolutely fantastic options for city beaches.

In the winter, they’re beautiful places to stroll along the seawall and catch a (4:30 pm) sunset, and in the summer, they’re home to the best people watching in the city. We’re looking at you, slackliners, acro yogis, and beach volleyballers with bodies of gods.
