The 10 best Canadian cities for Christmas light displays

It’s the final count down to Christmas.

And across the country, Canadians are taking in the joy and cheer. With snowfalls from coast to coast, adding to outdoor Christmas trees and lights, the stage was set for the holiday season.

Over a million Instagram posts went up, displaying North America’s holiday homes that shine the brightest. And while some major cities may have been predictable for having a lot of Christmas cheer, others may come as a surprise.

A recent analysis of Christmas photos by Wayfair.ca looked at the most average likes per Instagram post with the hashtag #ChristmasLights in Canada and the US.

In Canada, according to the analysis, North Vancouver, BC averaged over 100 likes per holiday post, most likely due to the Capilano Suspension Bridge and the 100,000-light charity display at 4967 Chalet Place.

Vancouver is also on the list because of this year’s Enchant – the world’s largest #ChristmasLights maze – which hosts a 23-foot reindeer and a massive 64-foot Christmas tree.

Meanwhile in Ontario, Toronto and Ottawa averaged some of the most likes for dazzling lights. Toronto is also home to the largest Christmas tree in Canada this year, which could help.

In the US, several warmer cities made the list for the best display of lights. But we’re not surprised, we’d be celebrating more if we were warm too.

Check out who else made the joyful list below.
