Canada's Aurelie Rivard wins 2nd gold medal at Paralympics

Aurelie Rivard has won another gold medal at the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, this time coming in the 100-metre freestyle S10.

This is Rivard’s second gold medal of the Games and her third medal overall.

The 20-year-old from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec set a new Paralympic record, finishing the race in 59.31 seconds. She edged out Sophie Pascoe of New Zealand and Elodie Lorandi of France, who won silver and bronze respectively.

Canada now sits in 14th place on the medal table on Day 6 in Rio with 4 gold, 8 silver, and 2 bronze.
