For grownups who feel nostalgic about their childhoods, a unique weekend retreat is coming to B.C. that combines yoga with the fun of summer camp.
Camp Yoga will host 400 guests at Camp Elphinstone in Gibsons for three days and two nights at the end of May. The weekend will be jam-packed with fitness classes as well as dockside meditation, canoeing, and wine tasting.
Campers can choose to participate in co-ed fitness classes or relive their childhood camp experiences with arts and crafts and boardgames. Each day will end with a sunset campfire, followed by live music and a DJ rave on the last night.
“Camp Yoga mixes all those fun camp-life memories as a kid into an environment where you can reconnect with yourself on home soil, but this isn’t a kids camp – it’s got wine,” says Camp Yoga founder Chelsea Long.
Tickets include everything from transportation to and from Vancouver, to classes, activities, and food. Campers can choose between a rustic cabin lodge-style bunks for their accommodation. Alcohol does cost extra, however.
