Vancouver Police were called to the Cambie Street Save-On-Foods Friday morning, after a shoplifting incident involving pepper spray.

Around 8:30 am, police said, a person believed to be stealing from the store was confronted by store security personnel.

The alleged shoplifter then sprayed security personnel with pepper spray and ran from the store.

“Other staff members and customers at the store were also affected by the pepper spray,”  VPD Sgt. Randy Fincham told Daily Hive.

Fincham added that no one has yet been arrested yet and the investigation is ongoing.
