Daily Hive had the chance to sit down with Perminder to find out more about his life.

Your story is most certainly an immigrant dream; can you tell us what inspired you to enter the world of finance and insurance when you arrived in Vancouver?

I did not enter, it was a transition after I had tried my luck at several odd jobs and small business ventures. I’m glad that I chose this…

What would you say to someone who has just immigrated to Canada but is finding it difficult to settle into the workforce here?

I like to tell people my story so that hopefully it inspires them to achieve their goals and fulfil their dreams. I feel that anything is possible and this country provides a lot of opportunities. I always ask them; what is their way?

How can the Richmond South Financial Centre help families when they arrive in Canada for the first time?

We help families find another way of working to earn a living, we give them an opportunity but their hard work and dedication decides their level of success in this business. We provide them with all the tools needed to be successful such as adequate training and any other tools such as laptops, etc.

You currently have more than 500 advisors working for you, many of whom you personally trained. Do you think it’s important to connect with new staff when they start at your organization?

We hold regular team building events where new advisors can have a chance to meet advisors who have been with us for a while. This makes them feel welcome and part of a team.

Can you tell us a bit about your organization’s community roots and involvement with the local area?

It is only me who is involved with the community, not my business at large; I like to do philanthropic work within the community as they have given me a lot. This community has always supported me and I will continue to do so as long as I am able.

How can anyone eager to work for the Desjardins Financial Security Independent Network – Richmond South apply for a role with the company? Are there any benefits that come with working for the organization?

They can contact me directly or go to one of our offices for more information. Our office information can be found here: http://dfsinrichmondsouth.ca/. There are lots of benefits as we do monthly promotions if advisors have reached their target levels /goals.

Permlnderhas also co-authored a book, UNCommon – Dreams with Deadlines. It’s all about the winning formula for achieving uncommon success.
