Burnaby RCMP investigating shooting incident

The Burnaby RCMP is investigating a shooting that is believed to be targeted.

This morning at approximately 1 am, Burnaby RCMP received calls reporting multiple shots being fired at the 6000 block of Broadway.

Police found one victim at the scene in a car partially lodged inside a residence at the intersection of Broadway and Fell Avenue.

No one in the house was injured, but Burnaby RCMP said the residents are “severely shaken.”

The victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The person is well known to police and is connected to an organized crime group.

“We are satisfied with the progress we are making on this investigation thus far” said Sgt. Annie Linteau of the RCMP’s Lower Mainland District.

“A number of police resources will continue to look at a possible motive for this incident and look at who could potentially be involved.”

No one has been arrested in relation to the shooting.
