10 things to do in Burnaby this July

July is here and Burnaby has many fun events happening throughout the month! From Summer Arts Festival, Giro di Burnaby and more, here are 10 things to do around the city this month.

Beaver Wetland Paddle

Burnaby Lake Regional Park/Metro Vancouver

  • What: Join a leisurely paddle to the headwater of the Brunette River. Enjoy the sunset and watch for beavers and other wildlife.
  • When: Friday, July 6, 2018
  • Time: 7 to 9 pm

Summer Arts Festival

  • What: Burnaby Art Council’s outdoor festival at Deer Lake Gallery is a fun and engaging event with a painting competition, kids workshop, artisan market, live music and entertainment, and more.

Tanabata & Flea Market

  • What: The annual Tanabata Children Festival brings colour to the Nikkei Centre on July 7. Learn how to make your wishes on tanzaku and enjoy Tanabata to the fullest. The event also includes food vendors, carnival games and a flea market.

Giro di Burnaby

  • What: The Giro di Burnaby returns to the historic “Heights” neighbourhood for its 10th anniversary. The Giro is one race in the BC Superweek series that sees professional cyclists from all over the world come to race on the streets of the Lower Mainland. Bring the family and cheer for these talented athletes as they race in front of you for a prize purse of over $15,000.

Summer Fun at Civic Square

The Summer Festival 2018

  • What: The Summer Festival is an anime event that features artists and vendors, carnival games, and stage events. Presented by SFU Anime Club, cosplay and yukatas are encouraged.

Day with Trek Travel at Trek Bicycle Burnaby
