What: A unique piece of Canadian showmanship with an evening packed with a variety of entertainment, activities and displays. The RCMP Musical Ride features intricate drills and choreography, including the famous “Dome” formation, which was once featured on the back of the Canadian fifty-dollar bill, to the exciting “Charge” movement, where lances are lowered and the riders’ mounts launch into a gallop. Proceeds from ticket sales will help support Cops for Cancer and KidSport Burnaby.
What: Jawahir: Jewels by Durrah Alsaif is an exhibition at the Deer Lake Art Gallery, and is hosted and organized by the Burnaby Arts Council. Through photography, performances, and installations, Alsaif explores the cultural identity between the East and the West as well as the status of women in Saudi Arabia.
