Breathe deeply with bunnies during this yoga event at SFU

With the stress of midterm season now in full force, Simon Fraser University (SFU) is hoping that giving students a chance to breathe deeply with bunnies during an upcoming yoga event will help take at least some of the edge off.

On Tuesday, October 24, SFU Recreation is bringing back Bunny Yoga in the Lorne Davies Complex (Burnaby campus).

There will be two Hatha yoga classes with bunny socialization. The rabbits are brought along by the Small Animal Rescue Society of BC (SARSBC).

Participants of all levels can purchase tickets in advance at the SFU Recreation office for $10, with proceeds going to Small Animal Rescue.

SFU Recreation has run similar Bunny Yoga events in the past, raising more than $1,000 for SARS BC.

The yoga bunnies are currently in foster care and up for adoption. Class participants can adopt or mingle with them afterwards.

“Yoga and animal companionship are known to be great stress relievers,” according to the event’s organizers.

Hey, at this point, when it comes to stress relief, we’ll take whatever we can get.
