Three large brass frogs reportedly weighing 60 pounds each were stolen from the Magnolia Gardens located at the Park & Tilford Mall this week.

According to North Vancouver RCMP, the thefts occurred sometime in the overnight hours between July 24 and July 25.

Police said the locked garden area was broken into with thieves breaking the water pipes to remove the frogs, which are designed to cycle water back into the pond.

“These are very unique garden items with a total value of approximately $3,000,”said Richmond RCMP Cpl. Richard De Jong. “Hopefully someone will recognize these frogs as being out of place in someone’s yard or as being turned in for scrap metal.”

Now, police are asking anyone who may have seen the stolen items – or has any information on their whereabouts – to contact them at 604-985-1311.
