Burnaby RCMP is investigating the circumstances and cause of the death of a man in the municipality’s southern area.

At 9:30 a.m. today, police responded to a report of a body found in a water-filled ditch in the 7600-block of Williard Street, just north of Marine Way. The identity of the man has not been confirmed, but he has been described by police as Caucasian, middle-aged, and with grey shoulder-length hair.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. At this time, limited details are available as the investigation by Burnaby RCMP and the B.C. Coroner’s Office is still in its early stages.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Burnaby RCMP Serious Crimes Unit at 604-294-7922.
