The scene outside a Granville Street shoe store on Friday night got a little crazy as shoppers lined up to get their hands on adidas’ newest sneakers, which went on sale on Saturday November 26.

A crowd of a couple hundred people had gathered at the adidas store, for the release of the BAPE x adidas originals collection, when a shirtless man began yelling and attempting to whip people with his belt.

The man was taken down after a few minutes by someone in the crowd, before police arrived, handcuffed him, and took him away.

With the shoes in such high demand, it wasn’t long before ads appeared on craigslist, from those lucky enough to snag a pair, hoping to make a quick buck.

One ad stated that the seller had “just won the raffle for the green camo NMD x Bape size 10.5,” and was willing to part with them for a cool $2,000.

Another advertised the the pair for a paltry $1,200: “Adidas Nmd Bape Camo will be available for pickup after 3pm on Saturday,” it said. “Can meet at the Adidas store on Granville. Work for a company that I cannot name, shoes are guaranteed.”

For the record, a quick search of the shoes’ MSRP is $150.
