With summer winding down, that means one thing – school is starting soon. Spend whatever time we have left under the sun on a patio, before all the kids want to do is stay indoors making blanket and pillow forts while drinking hot chocolate.
Here are some of the best kid-friendly patios in Vancouver.
This local pizza joint (in both Kits and on Main Street) is a perfect spot for families as it has something for all age groups. Kids have the ability to choose their own pizza toppings and have them baked in the wood-fire oven. The staff is really friendly and great with kids too.
St. Augustine’s is another great spot for families, with 65 rotating taps to keep parents happy along with an extensive pub menu with kid favourites like pizza, poutine and meatloaf. They’ve got a large, covered patio, perfect for any weather.

And in case they’re being stubborn/cranky/moody and not finishing their food, you can tell them if they don’t, the Ghost Conductor will come to take them away!

With three restaurants around Metro Vancouver (Coal Harbour, Olympic Village and North Vancouver) with huge patios, Tap and Barrel is very kid-friendly and offers a variety of eats and drinks for parents.
With almost 300 seats, The Mill is a European style waterfront bistro, that’s also right in front of a city-run waterpark. So while the adults get to sip local beers on tap, you can also watch your kids running through the sprinklers.
