It’s Breakfast Week! We’re serving up a heaping plateful of delicious stories about the most important meal of the day–and where to get it in Vancouver.

Sometimes you just need to get your hands on some serious breakfast: Literally.

From an eggy fusion banh mi to a loaded croissant and even a vegan option, breakfast (and brunch) menus around town are showcasing some awesome breakfast sandwiches. Here are 10 must-try breakfast sandwiches in Vancouver.

1. Egg Sandwiches at Yolks

Follow the Yolks “perfectly poached eggs” flowchart to build you own free-range egg sandwich. Served on an English muffin or organic whole wheat ciabatta, with either double smoked bacon and arugula; hand-carved honey ham with spinach and house-made Dijon, or roasted Portobello mushroom, arugula, and aioli, Yolks’ breakfast sandwiches are a deliciously messy affair.

Nook’s Kitsilano branch whips up an array of delicious brunch plates, including a Breakfast Sandwich of the Day. While the fillings change from week to week, brunch goers can expect to discover something along the lines of this little beauty; bacon, egg, white cheddar, and smashed avocado. Sandwiched between two slices of wood-fired bread (made from the pizzeria’s own pizza dough), patrons will find it difficult not to scarf this sandwich down immediately.
