Bear spray released on transit bus during fight in Surrey

A fight involving several people in Surrey on Saturday led to bear spray being released on a bus, affecting passengers and the bus driver.

According to a release from Surrey RCMP, officers responded to an altercation involving several individuals who all knew each other at about 7:40 pm.

During the fight, one of the people involved boarded a transit bus near 140th Street and 92nd Avenue, but was followed onto the bus.

A can of bear spray was then released inside the bus, police say, with several passengers coming into contact with the fumes.

Surrey RCMP says the people involved were known to police and investigation into the incident is continuing. However, police say, the public is not at risk.
