Upcoming ARC event aims to ignite photographers with creativity

An upcoming seminar aims to help local photographers refine their skills by showing them how to think creatively in an unconventional manner.

The Experience // ARC is a three day event that isn’t designed to be a one-off educational event for photographers. Let’s face it, that’s boring. Instead, the occasion is meant to be an ignition and ground zero to the ripple effect of change, dynamism, and purpose that Vancouver’s photography industry needs.

The Experience // ARC was inspired by artists who want to shake things up and stretch beyond (way beyond) the status quo to create a life of incredible growth, unexpected creativity, and fierce passion. It’s offering attendees an inspiring learning environment that encourages camaraderie, creates connections, and helps others rise up as artists.

The event will be featuring 10 different expert speakers who will speak to 150 photographer attendees. It will take place at Vancouver’s Fortune Sound Club, the perfect setting for sparking creativity and connecting brilliant minds.

Speakers will include the likes of Ryan Muirhead, Gabe McClintock, Kelly Tunney, Nessa KessingerRoss Harvey, and other international, award winning photographers”

You can view the full list by clicking here. Attendees can anticipate 10 presentations and live interviews, judging, along with mini presentations. There will be lots of time to mix and mingle at a slew of different events including a cocktail evening and concert. View the full schedule by clicking here.

To pick up some helpful tips and tricks photographers will participate in masterclasses, portfolio reviews, fast paced presentations, and much more. But what’s a rad event without equally rad music? Local Vancouver bands and artists will perform including Star Captains, Zaac Pick, and L.A. DJ Smiles Davis of Club 2723 (she’s worked with musical superstars like Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae, Mayer Hawthorne, and Questlove.) No need to bring along a lunch or dinner thanks to the community level local vendors that will be serving food and coffee. The video below was created by Hello Tomorrow Films, a husband and wife storytelling duo based in Vancouver.

A variety of different photography genres will be explored including weddings, fine art, fashion, street, and commercial. This in-depth experience is helping to bring rad to Vancouver, so make sure to reserve your ticket before they run out.
