Are you looking to improve your children’s skills around the computer?

Throughout July, select Apple Stores in Metro Vancouver will be offering free summer camps for kids between the ages of 8 to 12. There are multiple groups scheduled for each participating Apple Store, with each group running for three consecutive days. Each daily class will run for 90 minutes.

Two class options are being offered:

  • Stories In Motion With iMovie: Campers will learn how to make their own movies. They will storyboard ideas, shoot video, create an original soundtrack in GarageBand on an iPad, and then edit it all together in iMovie on a Mac.
  • Interactive Storytelling with iBooks: Campers will create their own interactive books. They’ll draw illustrations using an iPad, then add sound effects and Multi-Touch features using iBooks Author on a Mac.

Last year, children who participated in the camps were even given free Apple Camp swag including a t-shirt, patch, name tag, field guide, field journal, bumper sticker, achievement sticker, and a digital copy of their project.

Space at each camp is limited. Here’s a full list of Metro Vancouver Apple Stores that will be hosting the camps:

  • Coquitlam Centre
  • Guildford Town Centre
  • Metropolis at Metrotown
  • Oakridge Centre
  • Pacific Centre
  • Richmond Centre
