“Raised in Switzerland, and originally from from Bosnia/Croatia, Andrea then moved to Vancouver B.C. One of her biggest passions in life is music and that is mainly electronic music. She loves going to events where she can enjoy her favourite DJ’s rocking out their favourite tunes. She began modeling when she was 14 years old. Andrea really started pursuing it when she turned 17 and went full force from there. She also creative directs at shoots on the side and even plays the role of a photographer sometimes! As it comes around to her second model profile (see her first profile here), she has completed post secondary and will continue to pursue her passions as she continues modeling on the side.
Vancity Buzz: Since your last profile with us, what new shoots have you done?
Andrea: Since our last profile I cut down a third of my work to about 30 shoots while attending post secondary full-time. To name a few, I did a shoot for the Vincent Lee F/W Collection, for Mari Yasuda and Vincent Lee in Mexico, with Karla Lim for Whitebox Studio’s and with the amazingly talented Kim Akrigg for the Lynn Zhang Collection.
VcB: You’re a huge fan of house music, what song is currently stuck in your head?
I love, love, house music. Deep, techno, minimal, anything! – I just can’t stop! I also like all other genres of Electronic Music. I cannot explain my passion for this stuff. A song that gets stuck in my head usually depends on my mood. I might regret telling you what I’m bumping to right now because a week after I’ll probably be feeling another song in a possibly different genre! It’s like showing a part of who I am through sound.
A song currently stuck in my head is Trentemoller – Take Me Into Your Skin. Listen with good headphones 😀
VcB: What are your goals as far as modeling is concerned?
Andrea: I will be working in Taiwan next for a few months. My main focus is with music or events and modeling is part time. I am really excited!
VcB: What has been one of your more difficult shoots?
Andrea: I was shooting in a silky gown that had a slit opening all the way up to the top of my thigh pretty much letting all that lovely -13 degree windy weather everywhere. I couldn’t feel my toes for 2 hours after that and it was very hard to not keep my mouth from shivering but we still did it!
VcB: What are your hobbies?
Andrea: I love Volleyball! That is my all-time favourite sport. I used to dance a bit as well.
VcB: What is your favourite thing about Vancouver?
Andrea: The variations of everything from so many different cultures! And we have great sushi here 🙂
