All Souls at the Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver is back for for 2015.
The unique cultural event, now in its 11th year, is curated by artists Paula Jardine and Marine Szijarto, and was conceived as a way for people to honour their dead. As a “non-denominational sacred event,” All Souls provides an opportunity for people to share their beliefs, cultures, and traditions, and pay their respects to the loved ones they have lost.
Featured activities include talks on end-of-life care, workshops on creating sugar skulls, musical performances, and a shrine lighting on Halloween Night.
Every night until November 1, from 7 to 9 p.m., the Mountain View Celebration Hall will also be open for memorial activities. Some of the upcoming All Souls events include:
