6 Instagram-worthy foods and drinks you need to try at Albatross Music Festival this week

Sep 9 2017, 12:07 am

Albatross Music Festival is almost here.

Taking place at the city’s oldest sporting facility, Hastings Racecourse on Thursday, September 14 and Friday, September 15, the eclectic festival is set to feature a huge lineup of international artists.

Many of the artists scheduled to perform at the festival will be coming in from Korea, China, Taiwan, and the US, for their first ever performance in Vancouver. So it’s pretty exciting.

But it’s not just all music at the festival. You’ll want to go along to check out the epic food and drink vendor line up too. We’ve compiled a list of six insanely good food vendor stalls that you need to visit at the festival.

Guu Izakaya

Vancouver’s favourite Japanese happy hour chain is bringing the best of Guu to
Albatross. This means you can satisfy your carb cravings with their signature yakiudon, then finish off off with a Russell beer. Incase you didn’t know, Guuud!Ale is also proudly brewed by Russell Brewing Company. Guuud!Ale and good music make for an awesome festival.

The Original Hurricane Potato

Thai Box On Truck

JJ’s Hot Cobs

Snow Cloud Shavery

Soft Peaks Ice Cream

You can indulge in a delicious limited “Alb” edition milk bar from Soft Peaks at Albatross Music Festival. And from now until the festival, you can go along to the Gastown ice cream shop to pick up a cute fridge magnet for the occasion… just because.

Beers by Russell Brewing Company

Okay so it’s not food but this drink vendor is one that you’ll want to visit. The Surrey-based craft brewery will be offering up some of their best selling products at Albatross Music Festival including the Cream Ale, Punch Bowl, and White Rabbit. You can enjoy the end of summer and find your favourite Russell drinks in the Beer Garden and DJ Stage area.

If you don’t fancy digging into your food outside you can grab yourself a VIP pass and enjoy the most amazing seafood buffet at Silk’s Restaurant. Hastings Racecourse concessions will also be open during the festival as well serving up classic fare like hot dogs, burgers, and never-enough fries.
