Cat fanatics: Thinking of adding a four-legged family member to your home this summer? Super, because now is the purr-fect time.
These cats from Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue — or VOKRA – are adoptable right now and looking for a home to call their own. This fantastic non-profit group is run by volunteers and is dedicated to rescuing cats in the Lower Mainland. Each year it adopts out more than 1,400 cats and kittens.

Kleo is an independent, spirited lady but also likes to sleep in her human’s bed. Very active, she’d be well suited in a home with lots of space to run around and chase toys. Kleo’s brother, Caesar, craves attention and purrs like a little fire truck when you pet him. He would do well in an active home, and VOKRA thinks he might do well in a home with dogs and kids. Because the siblings are bonded, it’s hoped they can go to a home together.

A little chatty Cathy, this feline will let you pat him for hours and loves his people. He came to VOKRA as a stray and has been thriving in foster care. He loves being around lots of people so would do well in a home where he gets the attention he deserves.

Bella is a gentle and quiet kitty that would do well in a quiet home. She loves treats and will run like crazy if you toss one across the room. Tux, Bella’s brother, loves spending his days chilling out on the couch and sunbathing near the window. “Tux and Bella really deserve a stable, loving home where they can be happy for the rest of their days,” says VOKRA.

Both of these sweeties are very friendly. Lilly can be shy at first but will be the sweetest cat you’ll ever meet once she warms up to you. On the other hand, Jasper loves chatting with everyone he meets. He says meow a lot, says VOKRA. They are both super friendly, chill and easily the best part of coming home. Because they are the best of friends, VOKRA is hoping to find them a home together.
Darcy (VOKRA)
Darcy loves human company and the occasional hug. He quickly befriends humans but holds his ground against other felines, so he’d like to be the sole king of his forever home. He enjoys burrowing under blankets or fresh laundry (don’t we all?).

Delaney is delicate and bonds very easily with her people. She’s a complete sweetheart but when she gets too happy she can nip – so she would do best in a home without young children. “She loves cuddling,” says VOKRA.
Osha, 5-years-old & James Hook, 4-years-old

Osha may be a little shy to begin with but once she gets to know you, you’ll learn she can be loving and curious too. Her partner in crime is James Hook (gray) and she likes to follow everything he does. Even though she follows him everywhere, James Hook knows she holds all the cards in their relationship. If she wants to sit where he’s sitting, she just noses her way under his tummy until he understands he’s sitting in her spot. She also makes him groom her when she’s feeling like she needs some princess attention.
Isabel (VOKRA)
VOKRA says Isabel is “the sweetest cat you’ll ever meet and she’s sure to melt your heart.” She is deaf but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying life. She is still quite young and has lots of energy – and loves chasing string around the house – and laser pointers.

Phaedra loves time around people and wants nothing more than to be close to her family. Butters is a country boy weighing in at 21 pounds. “He’s one big cat with a personality to match!” says VOKRA. This pair needs a lot of space to run, play and chase each other around.
Joey (VOKRA)
Nicknamed the Dread Pirate Joey, this kitty was a swashbuckler in his youth because of his one eye. Like any good pirate, you’ll have to earn Joey’s trust before he’ll share any of his booty. Once you’ve proven your salt, you can count on him to ignore you at his leisure. Being retired, he would prefer a quiet tavern to call his new home.
