Feb 21 2017, 5:40 am

One man is dead and three others are in custody after a shooting in Abbotsford on Monday morning.

In a release, Abbotsford Police said they were called to the 30500 block of Steelhead Court at 9:40 am, after multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots.

Upon their arrival, police found a man in his mid-20s suffering from gunshot wounds. Before he could be transported to hospital, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect vehicle was spotted fleeing the area by an officer who then gave chase, trying in vain to pull it over on Highway 11 and again in Mission.

Eventually the suspect vehicle was disabled with the use of a spike belt and the assistance of the Mission RCMP, said the release.

Three men were arrested and taken into custody, but police have not released their names, nor the name of the deceased man.

The investigation is now being handed over to to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
