With temperatures reaching a low of -15 degrees Celsius with windchill over the weekend, water surfaces across the region froze over with a thick layer of ice suitable for skating.

One of the most iconic pond locations in the city is the pond located at Granville Island just by the Kids Market. Justin Long captured images of kids skating and playing ice hockey on the frozen pond, which is normally a popular location for feeding ducks when thawed.
