Prince: Sign ‘O’ The Times

  • What: A rare screening of wildly innovative and theatrical concert film Sign ‘O’ The Times, directed by Prince himself and shot with an audience at the Rotterdam Music Hall in 1987, for release alongside his double album of the same name.
  • Where: Rio Theatre – 1660 E Broadway, Vancouver
  • When: Doors 9 p.m., movie 9:30 p.m.
  • Tickets: Available from the Rio, $10 advance or $12 at the door

Stars On Ice

  • What: Three-time World Champion and two-time Olympic Silver Medallist Elvis Stojko returns to the ice with an incredible cast of superstars including Olympic Gold medallists Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir and Olympic Silver medallist Patrick Chan.
  • Where: Rogers Arena – 800 Griffiths Way, Vancouver
  • When: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Tickets: Available from Ticketmaster, from $25 plus fees

Cider 101

  • What: If you want to learn a little more about cider in general, then this is the class for you, exploring major cider styles and regions including the hugely popular Pacific Northwest style – a blend of beer and cider.
  • Where: Big Rock Urban Brewery & Eatery – 310 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver
  • When: 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Ivan Decker

  • What: Ivan Decker is a Millennial comedian who’s been delighting folks across Canada since his debut in East Vancouver, finding humour in everyday situations and sharing the struggles of today’s young adults.
  • Where: The Comedy MIX – 1015 Burrard, Vancouver
  • When: 8:30 p.m.
  • Tickets: Available from The Comedy MIX for $15


  • What: Calling all 17 to 35 year olds – you’re needed to save lives. Take 20 minutes to get a non-invasive cheek swab, grab some refreshments and add your name to the national database of potential stem cell donors.
  • Where: Hootsuite Media Inc. – 5 East 8th Avenue, Vancouver
  • When: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
