Woo hoo, it’s Thursday – which means it’s almost Friday! So how about we get the weekend started early today?

Here are 5 things to do in Vancouver today, from savouring the true musical genius of Nina Simone to learning the craft of origami flower making.

The Amazing Nina Simone

  • What: The Canadian premiere of a new documentary aiming to reveal the real Nina Simone through over 50 intimate interviews with those who best knew the artistry and intentions of one America’s true musical geniuses.
  • Where: Vancouver Playhouse – 600 Hamilton Street, Vancouver
  • When: Thursday, June 16, at 7 pm

c̓əsnaʔəm: The City Before The City

  • What: Musqueam community member Alec Dan will present and explore themes from the exhibition c̓əsnaʔəm: The City Before the City, drawing connections between past and present Musqueam culture and heritage.

Prohibition Night

The Ghomeshi Verdict: What’s Next?
