Salt Spring in the City

  • What: For its third year, Salt Spring in the City – a kind of village market meets art show – returns to Vancouver March 4 to 6 to showcase the treasures and flavours of the Salish Sea. Visitors to Vancouver’s Heritage Hall will get to experience food and fashion, paintings and pottery, wine and crafts, and a sense of nostalgia for the West Coast’s homesteading, handcrafted bohemian heritage.
  • Where: Heritage Hall – 3102 Main Street, Vancouver
  • When: Friday, March 4 to Sunday, March 6; various times.

Echo Nebraska

  • What: Bursting on to the Canadian music scene in the fall of 2014 with the release of a music video for their first single, ‘Hey, Allison’, Vancouver’s Echo Nebraska quickly gained a reputation of combining soul strung acoustic songs and subtle shades of Americana. Within a week of launching the band, CBC Music added the video to their list of Best New Music Videos for November 2014.

  • When: Friday, March 4; 7 p.m.


  • What: Vancouver’s top Friday night moves to a new home. Same vibe, same sounds, new location.
  • Where: VENUE Nightclub – 881 Granville Street, Vancouver
  • When: Friday, March 4; 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.


  • What: Every Friday M.I.A. gets #FVDED with International DJ’s & Producers supported by local residents. Join Dunham, Dr.Seiz, Krusha, Barlee, Kempeh, Baffoon, T!G3R WOOD$ & Vibe Selektaz as they push the boundaries of open format bass music.

  • When: Friday, March 4; 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.


  • What: D’Anthony Carlos (born May 17, 1993), better known by his stage name GoldLink, is an American rapper from Washington, DC. After sharing a string of well-received tracks on Soundcloud in the second half of 2013, he self-released his debut project The God Complex in spring 2014 to widespread recognition.
  • Where: Fortune Sound Club – 147 East Pender Street, Vancouver
  • When: Friday, March 4; 9 to 11:30 p.m.
