It’s finally Friday! Here are 5 things to do in Vancouver today, from getting a sneak preview of some pro-wrestling comedy to sleuthing your way round a very adult Science World.

Kevin Banner And Friend

  • What: Local pro-wrestling enthusiast and stand-up comedian Kevin Banner is recording his first comedy album soon – and he’s coming to Hot Art Wet City to run through the material with other local dynamos Kyle Bottom and Sophie Buddle.
  • Where: Hot Art Wet City – 2206 Main Street, Vancouver
  • When: Friday, June 17, doors 830 pm, show at 9 pm
  • Tickets: From Eventbrite, priced $7 in advance, $10 on the door

Strumming for Stroke

  • What: An evening of live ukelele music, including performances by Vancouver’s First Lady and Duke of Uke, Ruby & Smith, along with Ruby’s Ukulele Orchestra, and international performer and founder of the Vancouver Ukulele Circle, Ralph Shaw.
  • Where: Rio Theatre – 1660 E Broadway, Vancouver
  • When: Friday, June 17, doors open at 6 pm, show starts at 7 pm
  • Tickets: From Rio Theatre, priced $30; this is a fundraising event for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Camp Cry Baby

  • What: Atomic Vaudeville cabaret group applies their wit and genius to the Vancouver housing crisis, the quintessential battle between Millennials and Baby Boomers, and the founding of a summer camp to escape an adulthood they can’t afford.
