Boss breathing down your neck? 9-to-5 getting you down? Unemployed and just bored? Vancity Buzz is here to help! Check out a few of the awesome things happening tonight, and take that weight down off your shoulders.
What: One of the most popular stand-up comedians working today, Kevin Hart hits Vancouver tonight. He sells out theatres and stadiums across the continent, and in terms of his comedy he never comes up short. Sorry, it was right there.
Where: Rogers Arena – 800 Griffiths Way, Vancouver
What: Guitarist/songwriter Mark Knopfler is coming to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre tonight for a night of the classic riffs that made him what he is. He’s also a member of the Order of the British Empire. Which is rad.
Where: Queen Elizabeth Theatre – 649 Cambie Street, Vancouver
What: Looking for something a little heavier? A little more electronic? Look no further than DJ/Producer duo Vicetone. Two of the youngest, hottest names in EDM, and they’re here for you tonight. Lucky lucky.
What: Tragedy + Time = Comedy. Vancouver comedians Alex Sparling and Amber Harper-Young put that formula to the test, with the Tragedy Show. Comedians perform sets centered around the worst things that have happened to them, making for a unique, one-of-kind show that walks the line between hilarious and horrifying. With headliner Sunee Dhaliwal, you’re not going to want to miss this one.
What: Today is the first day of the Fringe Festival, a time of year when performers from all over the world gather in this fair city and ply their trade. Some of it is great, some of it is not great, but that’s what you get at the Fringe. Take your pick!
Where: Various venues
When: Various times
