RCMP are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who is alleged to have vandalized 47 vehicles from various car dealership lots in North Vancouver.

The incident occurred earlier this month between August 2 to 4, sometime over the BC Day long weekend. Police believe the unknown suspect walked through the car lots and scratched the vehicles with a key like object.

The average cost to repair each vehicle is estimated to be around $2,000 and the total repair cost will be approximately $100,000.

Police have extensively viewed the footage of various security cameras and have identified a person of interest, said Cpl. Richard De Jong, of the North Vancouver RCMP. We need this person identified and spoken to.

The person of interest is described as pictured:

  • A caucasian male
  • Between 50 to 60 years old
  • Heavier set and balding
  • At the time of the incident, he was wearing a yellow shirt, green shorts, black watch and black boots

If you know this person or his whereabouts you are asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311, or you can remain anonymous by calling BC Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
