28 celebrities you can spot in Vancouver this October
The start of a new season will bring about some new celebrity faces to swoon over in Vancouver! With 29 movies and TV shows filming in the city this month, chances of spotting your favourite stars are at an all-time high.
It seems like there’s always a chance that your favourite celebrity is right around the corner, waiting to be spotted grabbing an early morning coffee or maybe a few late night drinks.
But don’t leave it up to chance, especially when we can tell you exactly who to keep your eyes peeled for around town. Here are 28 celebrities to try and spot in Vancouver this October.

Keri Russell
Keri Russell may be spotted in the Vancouver area throughout October for her role in the feature film Antlers. Russell is known for her role as Felicity Porter in the drama series Felicity which earned her a Golden Globe Award, and movies like Waitress or Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
Jesse Plemons
Joining Russell on the set of Antlers is Jesse Plemons. You may remember him from TV shows like Breaking Bad and Fargo, and who could forget his longtime role as Landry Clarke in the hit show Friday Night Lights. Most recently he has starred in The Post and Game Night.
Jim Carrey
OK – get ready to be on the lookout because the hilarious Jim Carrey will be in Vancouver till mid-October. Carrey is expected to be in town for his newest role in Sonic The Hedgehog. Carrey is widely known for his roles like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, Dumb and Dumber among many, many others.
James Marsden
Joining Carrey on the set of Sonic The Hedgehog is James Marsden. Marsden has guest starred in shows like Saved by the Bell, Touched by an Angel, and Party of Five. Or maybe you remember him as the leading man from 27 Dresses and The Best of Me, and most recently as Teddy from the hit show Westworld.
Freddie Highmore
Best known for his creepy portrayal of Norman Bates in the TV series Bates Motel, Freddie Highmore will be in the city filming for the second season of The Good Doctor. Highmore has been acting since he was a child and has starred in films like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Finding Neverland, and The Spiderwick Chronicles.
Greg Poehler
Greg Poehler will be in town this month for his lead role in the series You Me Her. Poehler is the brother of popular comedian and actress Amy Poehler, and rumour has it she actually inspired him to leave his job as a lawyer and pursue acting.
KJ Apa
Oh, Archie *sigh* who can resist this red headed cutie?!
KJ Apa will be in the Vancouver area filming the third season of Riverdale. Apa is an up and coming actor from New Zealand who snagged the lead role of Archie in Riverdale and has also starred in the feature film A Dog’s Purpose.
Lili Reinhart
Lili Reinhart will also join Apa on location in Vancouver for Riverdale. Reinhart has the lead role of Betty in the series and has also made appearances in Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit, along with The Good Neighbor, Miss Stevens, and Forever’s End. Most recently she was cast in the upcoming film Galveston.
Camila Mendes
Of course, there would be no Betty without Veronica.
Camila Mendes will also be in Vancouver filming for the third season of Riverdale. Rumour has it that Mendes had her first acting job on an IKEA commercial before going on to star in Riverdale as main character Veronica.
Cole Sprouse
Rounding out this foursome is Cole Sprouse, known as character Jughead Jones and narrator of the Riverdale series.
Sprouse rose to fame at an early age starring alongside his twin brother in Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. He also starred in Big Daddy and even a few Friends episodes – remember Ross’s adorable son?!
Eliza Taylor
Eliza Taylor will be in town until the end of January for her role in The 100, which is currently filming its sixth season. Taylor is best known for playing Janae in Australian soap opera Neighbours, before going on to land the lead role of Clarke in The 100.
Marie Avgeropoulos
Joining Taylor on the set of The 100 is Marie Avgeropoulos, who plays the main character of Octavia. Avgeropoulos has starred in movies like I Love You, Beth Cooper, 50/50, and TV series Cult.
Katheryn Winnick
Katheryn Winnick will be in Vancouver this October for her role in season one of Wu Assassins. Winnick was born right in Etobicoke, Ontario and has starred in Bones, The Art of Steel, and History Channel’s The Vikings in which she currently plays Lagertha.
Jason Momoa
Jason Moma will be in Vancouver for his latest role in the TV series See. Moma is usually recognized for playing Khal Drogo in the HBO series Game of Thrones, or as Declan Harp from the Netflix series Frontier.
Ron Livingston
Ron Livingston may be spotted in Vancouver this October for his latest role in season one of A Million Little Things. Livingston has starred in TV series like Boardwalk Empire, Band of Brothers, and Standoff, or maybe you remember him back in the day as Jack Berger from HBO’s Sex and the City.
Jennifer Connelly
Jennifer Connelly will likely be in Vancouver through to December for her latest role in the new TV series Snowpiercer. Connelly has had a variety of roles in movies like A Beautiful Mind, Hulk, Dark Water, and rom-com He’s Just Not That Into You among many others.
Rose McIver
Rose McIver is in Vancouver through to January to film for the fifth season of The CW’s iZombie. McIver is a New Zealand-born actress who made her big screen debut in the movie The Lovely Bones, and has held the lead role of Liv Moore in iZombie since 2015.
Stephen Amell
Stephen Amell will be back in town to film the seventh season of Arrow. Born in Toronto, the Canadian actor has also made appearances in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash, along with Queer as Folk and New Girl to name a few.
Melissa Benoist
Step aside Superman, Supergirl is back to save the day!
Melissa Benoist may be seen in Vancouver this month to film season three of the hit show Supergirl. Benoist has made appearances in Glee, Homeland, The Good Wife and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Melonie Diaz
Melonie Diaz will be in Vancouver this month for her role in season one of The CW’s Charmed. Diaz has starred in movies like Lords of Dogtown, Be Kind Rewind, X/Y and The Cobbler alongside Adam Sandler.
Kiernan Shipka
This 18-year-old has been acting since she was a child and recently snagged the lead role in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina filming in Vancouver until December. Kiernan Shipka is mostly known for her role as Sally Draper in Mad Men, but you might remember her as the voice of Jinora in the animated series The Legend of Korra.
Grant Gustin
Back in action for the fifth season of The Flash, Grant Gustin will be on location in Vancouver through to April 2019. Gustin has also had roles in shows like 90210, Glee along with making appearances in Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Arrow.
Jared Padalecki
Back to film its 14th season, Jared Padalecki will be in the city for his role of Sam in Supernatural. Padalecki has also starred in Gilmore Girls, House of Wax and alongside the Olsen twins in New York Minute.
Jensen Ackles
Joining Padalecki on set is Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean in Supernatural. Ackles made his big break starring in the soap opera Days of Our Lives, along with Smallville and My Bloody Valentine 3D.
Dominic Purcell
Dominic Purcell will likely be in Vancouver filming for his role in the TV series Legends of Tomorrow. You may remember him best as Lincoln Burrows from Prison Break which got renewed for a sixth season.
Katee Sackoff
Known for her roles as Lieutenant Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on Battlestar Galactica, and starring in shows like Nip/Tuck, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and 24. Katee Sackoff will be in Vancouver this October for season one of Another Life in which she has the lead role of Niko.
Lori Loughlin
Lori Loughlin will be in Vancouver for her role in the Hallmark series When the Heart Calls. Loughlin is best known for playing Uncle Jesse’s other half on the hit show Full House, which led to her reoccurring role on Netflix’s Fuller House.
Molly Parker
Best known as the ruthless Jackie Sharp on House of Cards, Molly Parker may be spotted in Vancouver filming for season two of Lost in Space, a remake of the 1960s sci-fi series of the same name.
