24-year-old woman assaulted near Shaughnessy Golf Course

Vancouver Police are investigating an assault on a young woman that occurred on Sunday near the Shaughnessy Golf Course area.

According to police, the incident happened at approximately 10 a.m. on the lower trail when she was attacked by a stranger. The victim called 911 just before 1 p.m. and was transported to hospital for her minor injuries.

The suspect remains at large. He is described as between the ages of 40 and 50, heavy build with olive skin, shoulder length dark hair, and dirty in appearance.

“Investigators are looking for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the assault who could have valuable information to share with the police,” said VPD spokesperson Sergeant Randy Fincham in a statement.
