After an 87-year-old woman was found murdered in her apartment last month, Vancouver Police say a 23-year-old is now facing charges in connection with her death.

In a release, Vancouver Police said Elizabeth Poulin was found deceased in her apartment near Kingsway Avenue and Kerr Street on November 24, around 8 am.

Investigators from the VPD Major Crimes Section and BC Coroners Service have classified the woman’s death as a homicide.

Now, second-degree murder charges have been approved by the BC Prosecution Service against 23-year-old Surrey resident, Nicholas Dwayne Wallace in relation to Poulin’s death.

Police said the investigation is now before the courts and there is no additional information to share at this time.
